Case Study - Longview Police Department

Organization:  Longview Police
web address:  www.LongviewPolice.com

The Longview Police Department was in need of new web site development that would provide a stronger professional web presence.  In addition, the Longview detectives were in need of a new RSO (Registered Sex Offender) tracking system to monitor check-in and check-up statuses via a web based interface.

Longview Police Needs:

* Web Design

* Application Development - RSO Tracker
* Mobile Tracking
* Twitter Integration
* Video Integration

Key Creative Solution:

Key Creative designed a state-of-the-art web site for the Longview Police Department.  The web site featured the ability for officers to easily update the new site without the need to know HTML or Photoshop.

The Longview Police web site pages and features include:

* Advanced Content Management System

* SEO Search Engine Optimization – Friendly URLS

* SSL (Secure Socket Layer)

* Photo and Video Gallery Integration

* Contact Forms

* News and Events Section

* Calendar Functionality

* Chief of Police / Organization Pages

* Statistics and Data
* Employment Section

* Staff Pages
* Twitter Integration
* Press Releases

* XHTML / CSS Compliant Design

In addition, Key Creative developed a new web based tracking system that helps officers keep track of registered sex offenders.  The system received "rave" reviews from local and regional police chiefs and will be shown to police departments all over Texas at a conference at the end of 2011.

Other highlights include:

• The ability for the officers to post "breaking news" via Twitter to the home page of the web site from their cell phone.  For example, if an officer witnesses a wreck, then he/she can use a cell phone to post an update directly to the web site.
• Video integration via YouTube so that officers can post video so the public can help catch criminals.  Within one week of going live, the new video page helped lead to an arrest.
